Road
Rides:
Recreational
riders and cycling enthusiasts will enjoy prairie
tours leaving promptly at 8:00 a.m. from Camden
State Park on
August 23, 2008. Riders can choose from
15, 30 or 60-mile rides. All road tour
participants will depart at the same time and then
will be diverted off onto various county roads,
based on the preferred distance. There will be
several water stops available along each route and
sag wagons will be available. All riders must
be registered, at least 12 years old (or directly
supervised by an adult), have a bike in good repair
and wear a helmet. Tow-behind buggies/bikes are
permissible at no additional charge. Check-in begins
at 7:15
a.m. on Saturday at Camden
State Park . Refreshments and snacks will be
provided and each rider that registers by August
15th will receive a Camden
Classic t-shirt and have their names entered into a
drawing for some great prizes. Registration
after August
15th and same day registration will be
available for an additional $10 charge per person.

Introduction
to Mountain Biking Ride:
Introduce
yourself to mountain biking on this ride for
beginners. An experienced mountain biker
will lead the group (8 years and older or parent’s
judgment) on a several mile ride though the Camden
State Park woods. There will be several
small grades to climb, but the route will generally
consist of gently rolling terrain. The ride
will start at 11:00
a.m. on August 23, 2008. No times will
be kept or posted. Awards will be provided for
all entries. REGISTER
Kid’s
Bike Rodeo:
This
FREE event is geared for the smallest of bikers (7
years and younger). Kids will take their bikes
and tricycles on a set course near the group camp
staging area. The ride will start at 11:15
a.m. on August 23, 2008. The kid’s
ride is always a big hit.. Kids that are
registered by August
15th will be assured of a Camden
Classic t-shirt. Awards will be provided for

Mountain
Bike Sport Race:
This
8-mile (approximate distance) mountain bike race is
perfect if you want to test the mountain bike race
scene or just set a personal goal for yourself to
complete the one lap loop through Camden
State Park . The course has a couple heart
pumping hills, but most is single-track rolling
terrain through the hardwoods and prairie. We know
you'll fall in love with the park and (if you
haven't already) with the sport of mountain biking.
The Sport Ride will begin at 10:00
a.m. on August 23, 2008. All riders must be
registered, at least 12 years old (or parent’s
judgment) have a bike in good repair and wear a
helmet. Bib number pick-up is available beginning at
9:00
a.m. on Saturday at Camden
State Park . Medals will be awarded for
the top 3 men and top 3 women riders. Riders
are welcome to pre-ride the course the evening
before or morning of the ride. Refreshments

Competitive
Mountain Bike Race:
Yes,
the prairie does have a mountain bike challenge for
you! This 18-mile (approximate distance) race will
take you on 3 laps through Camden
State Park with some challenging climbs and
some great downhill runs. August is usually a dry
time in the region, so we expect a fast single-track
cross-country course through the
oaks, maples and prairie hills. The
race will begin at 12:15
p.m. on August 23, 2008. All riders must be
registered, at least 12 years old, have a bike in
good repair and wear a helmet. Bib number pick-up is
available beginning at 9:00
a.m. on Saturday at Camden
State Park . Riders are welcome to
